In this paper, we present a strong correlation of the gamma-ray (above 100 MeV) luminosity with the far-infrared (60 mu m from IRAS) luminosity for 17 blazars detected by EGRET aboard CGRO. This indicates that the gamma-ray and far-infrared emission are both beamed and suggests a direct link between them. This suggestion is also supported by the identical dominance of energy budget and the rapid time variability in the gamma-ray and far-infrared wavelengths, and the fact that the radio/far-infrared spectra is continuous for most blazars.
